Tomorrow (Tuesday 16 April), I will be at the University of Nottingham, attending an event entitled Lincolnshire Landscapes - A day of talks and creative practice inspired by the landscape of Lincolnshire. The event is part of the AHRC Landscape and Environment Programme’s Impact Fellowship and is linked to the Landscape, Space, Place Research Group and the Centre of Advanced Studies at the University of Nottingham.
Speakers will include the artist Simon Read (Middlesex University), the writer Jon McGregor (author of the fantastic 2012 collection of short stories, This Isn't The Sort of Thing That Happens To Someone Like You), cultural geographer Sophie Hollinshead (University of Nottingham) and yours truly, talking about my childhood memories of the Middlefield Lane estate landscape, space, freedom, Pat Phoenix and Marineville.
